Freedman<\/a> talked about the player\u2019s contract and FaZe Clan\u2019s immediate response to the initial lawsuit announcement. In late May, FaZe Clan CEO Lee Trink claimed&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/business\/news\/tfue-discuss-contract-september\" target=\"_blank\">talks began as far back<\/a>as September 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freedman claims that Tfue\u2019s team sent a desired contract to FaZe Clan prior to signing and it was refused by the organization and countered with its&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/general\/news\/tfues-contract-with-faze-has-been-released\" target=\"_blank\">own, apparently illegal contract<\/a>. FaZe Clan\u2019s initial response to the lawsuit claimed that it was the only party that suggested a contract to Tfue and&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/business\/news\/banks-says-tfues-initial-contract-was-horrible-but-faze-offered-him-many-new-ones\" target=\"_blank\">approached the pro player for changes earlier in the year<\/a>, only to be refused.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first contract that Tfue\u2019s team sent to FaZe Clan was \u201cas close to a legal contract as you can get, but apparently, that wasn\u2019t good enough for [FaZe],\u201d according to Freedman. He then claims that the organization \u201cput in their own provisions which made it illegal once again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawyer also brought up the figure of<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/general\/news\/faze-clan-follow-up-tfue\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;$60,000 that FaZe Clan claimed it<\/a>&nbsp;made from Tfue in the entirety of his contract. \u201cHow you could rely on their $60,000 figure as to what they made off him is disingenuous when you realize how much money FaZe Clan is making by having Turner as part of its team, how much advertising they\u2019re selling, how many sponsorships they obtained because Turner was part of their team,\u201d Freedman said.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freedman says that the figure of $60,000 that FaZe claims it made from Tfue is \u201calmost laughable\u201d and \u201ca complete fiction.\u201d He claims they \u201cmade millions of dollars through sponsorships with Nissan and other companies\u201d as a result of having popular gamers such as Tfue.&nbsp;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attorney questioned why no one talked about the provision in Tfue\u2019s contract that prohibited him from playing or streaming video games for an entire six months after the termination of the contract. \u201cI\u2019m really, really surprised that that\u2019s not the part of the contract that people are looking at and saying \u2018wow,\u2019\u201d Freedman said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Freedman also \u201cchallenge[s] FaZe to do the right thing\u201d and change its approach to the law and how it allegedly treats its players. Whether the lawsuit will actually go to trial without a settlement is yet to be seen, but FaZe settling could be a highly-likely outcome.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FaZe Clan&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dotesports.com\/general\/news\/faze-banks-tfue-lawsuit-allegations-untrue\" target=\"_blank\">has not yet responded<\/a>&nbsp;to Freedman\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tfue\u2019s lawyer has given more details on the contract.
