{"id":4827,"date":"2019-08-14T16:01:55","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T23:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ftllp.net\/?p=4827"},"modified":"2024-11-01T19:13:38","modified_gmt":"2024-11-02T02:13:38","slug":"lies-of-leaving-neverland-pokes-holes-in-the-stories-of-mjs-accusers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/lftcllp-lawyers\/bryan-j-freedman\/lies-of-leaving-neverland-pokes-holes-in-the-stories-of-mjs-accusers\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Lies of Leaving Neverland\u2019 pokes holes in the stories of MJ\u2019s accusers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An explosive new video called<em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rollingout.com\/2019\/07\/31\/lisa-marie-presley-writing-a-tell-all-book-about-michael-jackson\/\">Lies of Leaving Neverland<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;has been released that seemingly pokes multiple holes in the stories of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/rollingout.com\/2019\/03\/11\/did-drake-turn-his-back-on-michael-jackson-after-sexual-abuse-claims\/\">Michael Jackson\u2019s accusers<\/a>, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who claim they were sexually abused by the King of Pop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to&nbsp;<em>The Blast,<\/em>&nbsp;<em>Lies of Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;is a direct response to the Emmy-nominated documentary&nbsp;<em>Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;that horrified media members at the Sundance Film Festival in January and was subsequently released on HBO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<em>Lies of Leaving Neverland<\/em>, the video accuses the original<em>&nbsp;Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;of being wrought with \u201cprovable lies, conflicting accounts, contradictions, staged reshoots, faked scenes, reconstructed memories, critical information omissions, manipulated news clips, discredited source material,\u201d according to&nbsp;<em>The Blast.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>Lies of Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;centers around Robson\u2019s 2016 deposition where he admits that he previously testified under oath that the \u201cBillie Jean\u201d singer never touched him a \u201csexual\u201d or \u201cinappropriate\u201d way, but then said those previous statements were \u201cmistruths.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not long after the 30-minute video begins, Robson admits in 2016 that he \u201cwas hurt\u201d that he was not invited to Jackson\u2019s memorial after Jackson died from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication in 2009 in Holmby Hills, California. Robson believed that he and Jackson had \u201ca close friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why Robson would want to attend the funeral of his abuser at L.A.\u2019s Staples Center has mystified and angered Jackson supporters to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were many other points of contention in&nbsp;<em>The Lies of Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;that the video points out:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Why one of MJ\u2019s closest young friends, Macaulay Culkin of&nbsp;<em>Home Alone<\/em>&nbsp;fame, was never contacted to speak in&nbsp;<em>Leaving Neverland<\/em>. Culkin said he was never abused by Jackson;<\/li><li>Why no one from the Jackson family was ever given the opportunity to speak on the matter;<\/li><li>How Safechuck could tell of being abused on the train at Neverland in 1988 or 1989 when the train was reportedly not built until years later;<\/li><li>How Robson said he was abused when he was alone with Jackson while the family went to the Grand Canyon, but that the mother testified that the entire family&nbsp; was in Arizona together;<\/li><li>That Robson claimed he burnt most of Jackson\u2019s stuff, but failed to mention that he had already sold most of the items that had monetary value back in 2011;<\/li><li>Emanuel Lewis, a close friend of MJ\u2019s at the time when&nbsp;<em>Thriller<\/em>&nbsp;hijacked popular culture and owned the&nbsp;<em>Billboard<\/em>&nbsp;pop charts, was also never contacted. He also said he was never abused by Jackson.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/attorneys\/bryan-j-freedman\/\">Bryan Freedman, an attorney for the Jackson Estate<\/a>, told&nbsp;<em>The Blast<\/em>&nbsp;that \u201cthe consideration of&nbsp;<em>Leaving Neverland<\/em>&nbsp;for an Emmy in any category other than one based on fiction is preposterous.
