She said in the lawsuit that Mr. LaBeouf knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease, choked her and threatened her as she became isolated from friends and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Monday, FKA twigs asked the court to dismiss the case. In a joint statement, <a href=\"https:\/\/lftcllp.com\/lawyers\/bryan-j-freedman\/\">Bryan Freedman, a lawyer for FKA twigs<\/a>, 37, and Shawn Holley, a lawyer for Mr. LaBeouf, 39, said that the deal was made in the spirit of \u201cforging a constructive path forward\u201d and that their clients wished \u201ceach other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The details of the settlement would remain confidential, the lawyers said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she filed the lawsuit and made her claims public, FKA twigs said&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2020\/12\/11\/arts\/music\/fka-twigs-shia-labeouf-abuse.html\">in an interview with The New York Times<\/a>&nbsp;that she was doing so to show how even a celebrated artist with a network of support could be caught in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/01\/22\/us\/cori-bush-fka-twigs-coercive-control.html\">a cycle of abuse<\/a>. She and Mr. LaBeouf met in 2018, when she was cast in \u201cHoney Boy,\u201d a mostly autobiographical movie he wrote, and started dating after filming. \u201cI\u2019d like to be able to raise awareness on the tactics that abusers use to control you and take away your agency,\u201d she said then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an email to The Times when the suit was filed, Mr. LaBeouf said \u201cmany of these allegations are not true.\u201d He added: \u201cI have no excuses for my alcoholism or aggression, only rationalizations. I have been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years. I have a history of hurting the people closest to me. I\u2019m ashamed of that history and am sorry to those I hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the aftermath of the suit, Mr. LaBeouf parted ways with his agency, CAA, as he sought inpatient treatment. He is known for his work in \u201cTransformers\u201d and last year appeared in Francis Ford Coppola\u2019s critically reviled \u201cMegalopolis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FKA twigs, a British artist born Tahliah Debrett Barnett,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/01\/23\/arts\/music\/fka-twigs-eusexua-review.html\">released her third studio album, \u201cEusexua,\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;to widespread acclaim in January.
