Bethenny Frankel\u2019s lawyers are demanding that NBCUniversal and Bravo allow reality TV stars to break their nondisclosure agreements in order to reveal alleged mistreatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attorney Bryan Freedman<\/a> accused the companies of violating a California law that prohibits companies from forcing employees to sign documents that would deny them from disclosing \u201cunlawful acts in the workplace,\u201d according a legal letter obtained by Page Six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freedman alleged in the letter that some of the content that falls under that umbrella includes \u201cracism; sexism; sexual violence; revenge porn; child labor; forced intoxication; and psychological, emotional, and physical abuse.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team of lawyers is requesting the company ideally release their reality TV stars from their NDAs, but if not, they want the personalities to at least be able to discuss alleged \u201cillegal conduct\u201d during production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TMZ<\/a> was the first to report on the letter. Freedman and NBCUniversal couldn\u2019t be reached in time for comment before publication.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Frankel \u2014 who has not been shy in discussing the \u201cbulls\u2013t\u201d business<\/a> \u2014 reportedly hired Freedman and Mark Geragos to go after the networks earlier this month for allegedly subjecting their reality stars to \u201cgrotesque and depraved mistreatment.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the letter sent to NBC\u2019s general counsel, Kimberley Harris, and obtained by Page Six, they accused the company of making \u201cdeliberate attempts\u201d to \u201cmanufacture mental instability\u201d by plying their stars with \u201calcohol while depriving them of food and sleep,\u201d as well as denying mental health treatment for those displaying \u201cobvious and alarming signs of mental deterioration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources told Page Six that around 80 stars from the network have expressed interest<\/a> in joining Frankel\u2019s coalition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a massive thing. There are multiple individuals wanting to join this \u2026 at least 80 people have reached out, men and women,\u201d an insider told us on Aug. 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The source didn\u2019t specify any names, but teased, \u201cIt\u2019s definitely \u2018Housewife\u2019 heavy\u201d with \u201cmultiple franchises of \u2018Housewives,\u2019 but it\u2019s people from all different Bravo shows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another insider doubled down that \u201cBethenny is recruiting people\u201d \u2014 mainly \u201cformer Housewife types.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, an NBCUniversal spokesperson told Page Six at the time that they are \u201ccommitted to maintaining a safe and respectful workplace for cast and crew on our reality shows.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt the outset, we require our third-party production partners to have appropriate workplace policies and training in place,\u201d the statement continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf complaints are brought to our attention, we work with our production partners to ensure that timely, appropriate action is or has been taken, including investigations, medical and\/or psychological support, and other remedial action that may be warranted such as personnel changes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
