He represents\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2022\/03\/16\/business\/media\/chris-cuomo-cnn-filing.html\">Chris Cuomo<\/a>, the former CNN anchor who is seeking $125 million for wrongful termination after the network fired him in 2021, and secured a payout of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/01\/11\/business\/media\/megyn-kelly-nbc.html#:~:text=But%20according%20to%20two%20people,million%20contract%20with%20the%20network.\">Megyn Kelly\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0full contract when she left NBC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news that both&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/04\/24\/business\/media\/tucker-carlson-fox-news-dismissal.html\">Mr. Carlson<\/a>, until recently Fox\u2019s top-rated prime time star, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/04\/24\/business\/media\/don-lemon-cnn.html\">Mr. Lemon<\/a>, until recently one of CNN\u2019s morning hosts, had retained Mr. Freedman portended possible fights ahead.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Freedman declined to comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Freedman, who is based in Los Angeles, founded the law firm Freedman and Taitelman with Michael Taitelman in 1997. He became known as an aggressive litigator, representing high-profile clients in the entertainment industry, including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/17\/business\/miramax-tarantino-nft-pulp-fiction.html\">Quentin Tarantino<\/a>, Julia Roberts, Mariah Carey, Seth Rogen and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/12\/02\/arts\/television\/gabrielle-union-agt.html\">Gabrielle Union<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In recent years, he has represented axed TV hosts including&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/08\/31\/business\/media\/jeopardy-mike-richards.html\">Mike Richards<\/a>, a former executive producer of \u201cJeopardy!,\u201d and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/13\/arts\/television\/chris-harrison-bachelor.html\">Chris Harrison<\/a>of \u201cThe Bachelor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also represented&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/pop-culture\/pop-culture-news\/michael-jackson-estate-wins-appeal-lawsuit-over-hbo-s-leaving-n1251154\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Jackson\u2019s estate<\/a>&nbsp;in a $100 million fight against the HBO documentary \u201cLeaving Neverland,\u201d which won an appeal in 2020 to go to private arbitration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the past 14 years, Mr. Freedman has been included in The Hollywood Reporter\u2019s annual&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/lists\/hollywood-power-lawyers-2022-top-entertainment-attorneys\/bryan-freedman-13\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">list<\/a>&nbsp;of the entertainment industry\u2019s top 100 lawyers. In 2022, he said to the publication: \u201cHow do employers police their own?
