{"id":17081,"date":"2020-09-24T11:12:50","date_gmt":"2020-09-24T18:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/?p=17081"},"modified":"2024-11-01T11:15:43","modified_gmt":"2024-11-01T18:15:43","slug":"azealia-banks-sued-for-stalking-threatening-former-label-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/entertainment\/azealia-banks-sued-for-stalking-threatening-former-label-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"Azealia Banks Sued For Stalking &#038; Threatening Former Label CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-outspoken-rapper-is-being-sued-by-her-former-label-head-for-a-series-of-erratic-threatening-behavior\">The outspoken rapper is being sued by her former label head for a series of erratic threatening behavior<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<iframe class=\"desktop mobile\" src=\"\/\/cdn.jwplayer.com\/players\/FlAII5Gl-bmcrL08F.html\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"auto\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Tensions between Azaelia Banks and the CEO of her former label have been escalating in recent months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This summer, Banks urged fans to stop streaming her debut album &#8220;Broke With Expensive Taste,&#8221; which is when <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/attorneys\/michael-a-taitelman\/\">Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz [represented by Michael Taitelman of Freedman + Taitelman, LLP]<\/a> alleges she began levying accusations of &#8220;perceived injustices and advancing false claims, including that Prospect Park is withholding royalties.&#8221; He went on to call her album a &#8220;financial failure&#8221; that he said was entirely Banks&#8217; own fault and led to her being dropped from the label &#8220;due to her erratic behavior as well as for refusing to engage in basic promotion for her album.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Banks&nbsp;claimed that she was the victim of bad business and that Kwatinetz &#8220;stole all the money and sent a 15k check for album that has been streamed over 200m times.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<center><blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">azealia banks has asked fans to stop streaming her debut\/only album \u2018broke with expensive taste\u2019, claiming Prospect Park CEO Jeff Kwatinetz is the only one that pockets any money from it. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/reUi3HHrYT\">pic.twitter.com\/reUi3HHrYT<\/a><\/p>\u2014 jackson langford (@jacksonlangford) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jacksonlangford\/status\/1282138508182695936?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 12, 2020<\/a><\/blockquote> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/center>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The lawsuit alleges that Banks sicced her fans on&nbsp;the exec&nbsp;to apply the pressure on him as she &#8220;threatened the lives of Kwatinetz and his wife and young children, and posted photos of herself outside his home in Los Angeles shortly before an attempted robbery of that home.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kwatinetz&#8217; complaint also alleged&nbsp;that Banks threatened to leak his address on social media and circulated rumours that he was responsible for the death of late actress Brittany Murphy.
