According to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dexerto.com\/entertainment\/faze-dispute-california-jurisdiction-in-tfue-case-file-for-dismissal-1093278\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dexerto\u2019s Richard Lewis<\/a>, Tfue\u2019s contract states that any legal disputes between the player and organization must be settled in New York Courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This comes after FaZe Clan filed a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/win.gg\/news\/1879\/faze-clan-files-countersuit-against-tfue-claiming-breach-of-contract\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">countersuit<\/a>&nbsp;in New York federal court in August, claiming Tfue had breached his contract and \u201cdamaged the brand\u201d in his attempts to split from the team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/attorneys\/bryan-j-freedman\/\">Tfue\u2019s attorney, Bryan Freedman<\/a>, was\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2019\/08\/01\/faze-clan-sues-tfue\/\" target=\"_blank\">interviewed by TMZ<\/a>\u00a0in August and claimed that FaZe is trying to move the process to New York because the organization knows it can\u2019t win under Californian laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Filing the lawsuit in New York is actually an admission that Faze Clan has no defense to these violations of California law. Ask yourself, why is Faze Clan is afraid to litigate its wrongful conduct in California? The answer is obvious. Faze Clan will lose.<\/p><cite>Bryan Freedman<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/win.gg\/news\/1237\/tfue-suing-faze-clan-for-exploitative-contract-and-lost-sponsors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tfue\u2019s legal claims<\/a>&nbsp;against FaZe focus in on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/thr-esq\/tfue-sues-faze-clan-oppressive-contract-1212124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">California\u2019s Talent Agency Act<\/a>, claiming the organization violates the law through its business and sponsorship practices. Tfue\u2019s legal team has resisted attempts to take the case out of Californian courts, claiming FaZe has no cause to move the case to New York as the esports organization does not maintain any operations within the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FaZe lead attorney Manny J. Caixero responded to this in the motion to dismiss. He noted that FaZe maintained an office in New York at the time of Tfue\u2019s signing and was headquartered in the state in 2016. He also stated New York serves as a \u201cneutral location\u201d for FaZe\u2019s international stable of talent, while also citing that Tfue is legally a resident of Florida and has never had a permanent address in California.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tfue\u2019s case against FaZe would be seriously weakened if the judge agrees with FaZe\u2019s legal team.
