{"id":10473,"date":"2010-01-30T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2010-01-31T03:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ftllp.net\/?p=10473"},"modified":"2024-11-04T15:06:11","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T23:06:11","slug":"housewife-sued-by-man-alleging-libel-and-slander","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/entertainment\/housewife-sued-by-man-alleging-libel-and-slander\/","title":{"rendered":"Housewife&#8217; sued by man alleging libel and slander"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A man who says he was the secret ex-boyfriend of Orange County \u201cHousewife\u201d Gretchen Rossi has filed a suit alleging slander and libel against the blond-haired, blue-eyed reality TV star.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The suit was filed today in Los Angeles Superior Court downtown.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.radaronline.com\/sites\/default\/files\/Rossi.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can view a copy here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jay Photoglou<\/strong> of Huntington Beach says that Rossi regularly defamed him and lied about their relationship \u2014 on TV, to various media outlets and on her blog. He says the two were \u201ca couple\u201d during Rossi\u2019s engagement to <strong>Jeff Beitzel<\/strong>, who died from leukemia in September 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two broke up in February 2009, according to the suit. In March 2009, Rossi filed a temporary restraining order against Photoglou, alleging that he threatened to harm her, her dog, her friend Slade Smiley and himself. The temporary restraining order was later dismissed by a judge.<a><br><\/a><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to libel and slander, the suit alleges instances of invasion of privacy\/false light; intentional interference with prospective economic advantage; negligent interference with prospective economic advantage; intentional infliction of emotional distress; and conversion (taking property from another).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photoglou declined to comment about the suit, except to say that it is \u201cabsolutely real.\u201d He is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as attorney\u2019s fees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe are seeking to set the record straight. We\u2019re going to show what the real truth is, in terms of what their relationship was.
