{"id":10303,"date":"2013-02-21T18:08:00","date_gmt":"2013-02-22T02:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ftllp.net\/?p=10303"},"modified":"2024-11-04T11:07:36","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T19:07:36","slug":"lawsuit-alleges-liz-and-dick-insurance-money-scam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/entertainment\/tv_film\/lawsuit-alleges-liz-and-dick-insurance-money-scam\/","title":{"rendered":"Lawsuit Alleges &#8216;Liz and Dick&#8217; Insurance Money Scam"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Michael Braun says a man falsely claimed to be raising money to insure Lindsay Lohan&#8217;s performance.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A man who claimed to have been raising money to insure&nbsp;<strong>Lindsay Lohan<\/strong>&nbsp;on the Lifetime movie&nbsp;<em>Liz and Dick<\/em>&nbsp;is being sued by an investor who wants his money back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In court papers filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court,&nbsp;<strong>Michael Braun<\/strong>&nbsp;claims he was induced into loaning $110,000 to producer&nbsp;<strong>Rick Schwartz<\/strong>, who was supposedly raising money&nbsp;to pay for insurance on the Lohan telefilm. Schwartz, an independent producer and former Miramax executive, was said to be close to Lohan and working with the filmmakers, according to the suit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/sites\/default\/files\/custom\/Kimberly\/bc501539.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Read the full complaint<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But when the film was completed, &#8220;Braun began inquiring about the return of the $110,000 as promised,&#8221; the suit states. &#8220;Schwartz failed to pay back the $110,000 and began providing Braun with misinformation to delay repayment.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Braun says he later discovered that Schwartz had no connection to the&nbsp;<em>Liz and Dick<\/em>&nbsp;film.
