{"id":10291,"date":"2013-05-09T17:31:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-10T00:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ftllp.net\/?p=10291"},"modified":"2024-11-04T10:55:04","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T18:55:04","slug":"uta-sues-another-ex-client-for-commissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/entertainment\/tv_film\/uta-sues-another-ex-client-for-commissions\/","title":{"rendered":"UTA Sues Another Ex-Client for Commissions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UPDATED: &#8216;Scrubs&#8217; star Donald Faison is the target of the latest lawsuit over allegedly unpaid fees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Scrubs<\/em>&nbsp;star&nbsp;<strong>Donald Faison<\/strong>&nbsp;has been sued by his former agents for commissions from the long-running comedy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, United Talent Agency claims the actor stopped paying a 10 percent commission after episode 3 of the show&#8217;s ninth and final season. He also allegedly failed to share the $60,000 fee from an ABC pilot called The Law.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/sites\/default\/files\/custom\/Kimberly\/bc508421.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Read the full complaint.<\/strong><\/a><br><br>UTA is asking for more than $73,000 in damages. &#8220;Faison has not only turned his back on the people that helped slingshot his career, but on his contractual obligations to those people,&#8221; the complaint alleges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Faison, now&nbsp;repped&nbsp;by APA, declined to comment on the suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time UTA has gone after a former client in court. In the past few years, the agency has sued former producer client World of Wonder over commissions from&nbsp;<em>Tori and Dean<\/em>, as well as writer&nbsp;<strong>Adam Herz<\/strong>&nbsp;over&nbsp;<em>American Pie 4<\/em>.
