{"id":10206,"date":"2014-08-20T12:31:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-20T19:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ftllp.net\/?p=10206"},"modified":"2024-11-03T17:26:22","modified_gmt":"2024-11-04T01:26:22","slug":"criminal-minds-star-sued-by-ex-manager-over-commissions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/news\/entertainment\/criminal-minds-star-sued-by-ex-manager-over-commissions\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Criminal Minds\u2019 Star Sued By Ex-Manager Over Commissions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>First things first \u2013 this case of unpaid commissions probably wouldn\u2019t make it on to&nbsp;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/tag\/criminal-minds\/\">Criminal Minds<\/a>.<\/em>&nbsp;But here in Hollywood, today\u2019s breach of contract&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/lawsuit\/\">lawsuit<\/a>&nbsp;seeking \u201cno less than $480,000\u201d from Craig Dorfman and his Frontline Entertainment against the veteran CBS drama\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/thomas-gibson\/\">Thomas Gibson<\/a>&nbsp;has all the makings of a classic. \u201cDorfman\u2019s management company Frontline has literally been on the frontlines, recusing Gibson\u2019s career from professional crises of Gibson\u2019s own making,\u201d says the vivid and detailed 7-claim jury seeking complaint by Frontline Management and Dorfman filed in LA Superior Court today (<a href=\"https:\/\/pmcdeadline2.files.wordpress.com\/2014\/08\/gibson-dorfman-lawsuit-wm-and-updated.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">read it here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After all that, Frontline say that for their efforts and heartache for the actor what they got was Gibson earlier this year demanding they cut their commission from 10% to 7.5%. In a document not at all short on personal info and supposed workplace bad behavior, it, as always, comes down to money. As today\u2019s filing reveals, Gibson&nbsp;apparently makes $200,000 an episode on the long running CBS series and a total of about $4.8 million a year to which Dorfman says he\u2019s entitled to the long standing portion of 10%. After Dorfman refused Gibson\u2019s cut down of the commission, the&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/criminal-minds\/\">Criminal Minds<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;actor dumped Frontline on June 24 this year. He also stopped paying the management company. Which is why Dorfman is taking his old client to court for the money he says he\u2019s owed for the guidance Frontline gave Gibson since the two sides made a management agreement in 2003. The relationship actually goes back much further than that to 1996 when Gibson was on&nbsp;<em>Chicago Hope<\/em>&nbsp;and Dorfman became his agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dev.creativespikedigital.com\/lftc\/attorneys\/bryan-j-freedman\/\">Bryan Freedman<\/a> and Jordan Susman of LA\u2019s Freedman &amp; Taitelman are representing Dorfman in the action.
