In order to generate interest in the project, the two women produced a trailer for the film in early 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manning alleged that she was actively involved in every aspect of the trailer\u2019s creation, including pulling together a crew and tapping her industry contacts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, the actress claimed she funded the trailer with her own money and even starred in it herself. After the trailer was created, Manning said, her relationship with Dimech ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After their business partnership disintegrated,&nbsp;a dispute erupted over the online release of the trailer they had created for&nbsp;<em>Droppers<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to court records, Dimech accused Manning&nbsp;of copyright infringement for releasing the work without her prior approval,&nbsp;threatening her&nbsp;with legal action unless she paid&nbsp;hundreds of thousands of dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/Taryn-Manning-Lawsuit-Docs.pdf\">SEE THE LEGAL THREATS<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manding demanded the court declare she had not infringed on any copyright and her ex-business partner did not control any rights to&nbsp;<em>Droppers<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dimech fired back at Manning\u2019s&nbsp;<strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/i.viglink.com\/?key=0d8538cbee9ff4297a6481f0437df251&amp;insertId=2613adc7cc686f73&amp;type=CD&amp;exp=-100%3ACILITE%3A4&amp;libId=k33meghe0102lf0e000DAc0gq3bwp&amp;loc=https%3A%2F%2Fradaronline.com%2Fexclusives%2F2016%2F01%2Ftaryn-manning-sues-business-partner-judge-throws-orange-is-new-black-actress-lawsuit%2F&amp;v=1&amp;iid=2613adc7cc686f73&amp;opt=true&amp;out=https%3A%2F%2Fshop.nordstrom.com%2Fsr%3Fcontextualcategoryid%3D2375500%26origin%3Dkeywordsearch%26keyword%3Dsuit&amp;ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&amp;title=Judge%20Shuts%20Down%20Taryn%20Manning%27s%20Lawsuit%20Against%20Business%20Partner%20%7C%20Radar%20Online&amp;txt=%3Cspan%3Esuit%3C%2Fspan%3E\">suit<\/a><\/strong> claiming there was no actual controversy for the actress to even sue. She pointed out she never filed for a copyright related to Droppers and didn\u2019t understand the reason for the actress suing her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On December 30, the federal court judge came back with a decision, agreeing with Dimech and shutting down Manning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The judge ruled the actress didn\u2019t show any proof that the issues were urgent or how it would harm her.
